How We Raise Them

Registered Red Angus genetics on Gulf Coast pasture. A defined breeding program built to produce bulls that go to work.

Four Steps to a Working Bull

Every bull that leaves Creekside Ranch has gone through the same disciplined program. Here's how we do it.

1

Foundation Genetics

Our registered herd is built on proven Red Angus bloodlines selected for calving ease, maternal strength, growth, and Gulf Coast adaptability. Every mating decision is backed by genomic data and EPDs through the Red Angus Association of America. We're not chasing fads or single-trait sires. We select for balanced, functional cattle that produce profitable calves in real-world conditions.

Our cow herd is the foundation. We hold our females to the same standards we expect from our bulls: sound feet and legs, good udders, strong maternal instinct, and the ability to maintain body condition on Gulf Coast grass without supplemental feeding during the growing season.

2

Grass-Developed Bulls

Our bulls grow on pasture, not in a feedlot. They develop on the same forages your cows graze, building the feet, legs, and constitution to work in real conditions. No pampered, over-conditioned bulls that fall apart when they hit your pasture.

Grass development takes longer than feedlot development, but the result is a bull that's ready to cover ground, breed cows, and maintain condition on your forage base. We'd rather sell a bull in working condition than one that looks good on sale day and falls apart by June.

3

Defined Breeding Season

We run a controlled calving season with defined bull turnout and removal dates. Tighter calf crops, more uniform calves at weaning, and better data for genetic selection. The kind of discipline that adds real value to every animal we sell.

A defined breeding season also holds our cows accountable. If a cow doesn't breed in the window, she doesn't stay. That selection pressure is what builds a maternal herd that breeds back on time, year after year. It's the same discipline we recommend to our bull buyers.

Complete Data Package

Every bull sells with RAAA registration, genomically-enhanced EPDs, DNA parentage verification, BSE results, birth and weaning weights, and disposition scores. The data justifies the price, and it should.

We believe in full transparency. You'll see every number we have on an animal before you buy. No surprises, no fine print, no "call for pricing." If the data doesn't support the animal, he goes to market instead of into somebody's herd.
